Doing boot -c and enabling acpi does not correct this issue.

No instability, no crashing, I can ping the IP assigned to the interface, but it does not pass traffic. According to this, support for the bcm5754 chipset is relatively new, which may explain the problem.

I grabbed the 20070508 snapshots and upgraded to the current version, this fixed the problem, which supports the theory that this was a bug in the driver.
